Celebrating breast cancer awareness month & life after cancer

By Jennifer Roman, on Dec 14, 2015

Every day at Harklinikken we celebrate the joy our clients find in regrowing their hair. This October, in honor of breast cancer awareness month, we are also celebrating the survivors of this disease that affects so many.

Many of our clients are cancer survivors. Although the client has just gone through one of life’s most difficult experiences, a lingering challenge persists: hair loss and poor hair quality. We meet with hundreds of women who have not yet regrown their hair after recovery. They tell us:

“It’s hard when people treat you like you’re sick because you look sick.”

“It’s hard to be judge by the amount and quality of your hair”

“It is hard to be reminded of cancer.”

Our specialists help them celebrate their health and understand the process of regrowing hair after chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

One client, Tina, came to us as a breast cancer survivor. She had lost all her hair after receiving chemotherapy treatment, and months later, still suffered from thin patches. She was paired with one of our specialists, who also survived cancer. The two women bonded over their shared experience and established a friendship.
